At Peace With Myself

Listening in and engaging on the “Art of Community” IntroNetworks webinar with Jono Bacon and Mark Sylvester — and I am feeling completely at peace during this webinar.

When I say at peace, what I really mean is that all that they are discussing resonates with me. I am here on this Earth to motivate people — I know that one already. But I know, more and more each day, that I am here to motivate people in regards to their growth, creativity, goals, desires, needs and helping them towards the pursuit of their happiness. However, most importantly, I am here to help people build communities because a sense of a community is so crucial to me and to my own growth and performance. I do not do very well in environments where people’s humanity is not one of the primary focuses of the organization/company/etc. — and quite frankly, I don’t think anyone does well in environments like that. If people are not energized, passionate nor expressed every day they go to work or take part in something that does not use their natural curiosities — then you will have people who are operating at less than even 85%. And who wants employees, organization members, volunteers, etc. who are not committed? Who are giving less than 85% of themselves? Even if we just focus on the profit bottom line, companies lose out on so MUCH productivity by having employees who give less and less of themselves each day. Trust me when I say this because right now I live it everyday.

It does not matter if you give someone a promotion, a raise or anything else that supposedly “motivates” them from the outside — people will eventually lose steam if they are not motivated from the inside, from their own curiosities, their own passions and BEING ABLE to bring those aspects of themselves to everything they do. If there is no room for that, you have already lost the potential for an individual’s dedication and commitment.

I say all of this to say that I know why I am here – I am a conduit for other people’s success and growth. When I am able to help people succeed and grow, I win too (which is probably why I love mentoring and being a big sister so much). I get it now. Now, it is time to manifest it in my life. 🙂

Thank you so much for your comment! I love listening to the webinars from IntroNetworks — my very first one was “The New Community Rules” with Tamar Weinberg. Each time I listen to one of your webinars, I end up buying the author’s book – I love it!

I look forward to many more webinars…thank you again for the comment…I am humbled. 🙂
